I can't help but dispair at the mentality behind the people Adam Sessler is talking about here.
In a way I feel sorry for anyone who can't broaden their horizons beyond one console. I perfectly understand being a fan of a particular platform for specific games (I'm easily a PlayStation girl because I'm so fond of Metal Gear, Tekken, Gran Turismo, Ico/SotC, and so on), but why would you go out of your way to slander something you havn't even tried? Granted, we don't all have to give Nazi-ism a go to get the gist of it, but that's a bit of a no-brainer.
The rivalry between platforms is a good thing. Developers making AAA titles for any specific platform will scrutinise the competition and (hopefully) see what they can do differently or better. Without competition, how do you better yourself?
Generally speaking, this is why larger countries like America and China can do so amazingly in the Olympics, because there's a bigger volume of competition in sport across all levels. Being the fastest sprinter in America is a totally different feat to being the fastest sprinter in the UK. I used to be the 5th fastest (junior) fell runner in England on a routine of video games, caffiene, and four training runs a week, which isn't a lot. I probably should've smoked cigarettes just to emphasise my point.

I don't care how much you hate the PlayStation brand, how much better you think FPS's are on a PC, how much you think it's trying to copy something else, because I'm the one having fun. Miserable forumites.

HMmmMmMmM....
I must say I am a Sony guy too but then again, I don't have a PS3.
I have the 46" Sony Bravia 1080p/24p the Sony Blueray Player and the Sony HDMI surround-sound home cinema kit. I love my gadgets, lol. Still, I don't have a PS3.
I have all other consoles and a fairly kick ass PC (for all the work I do, I need them) but the PS3 is still not in my collection eneven though it was released on my birthday.
Gran Tourismo, kewl, but not good enough to buy a PS3. Tekken, FF13 and other leading main stream titles are coming to the 360.
It sickens me to have bought a 360 first because I really don't like M$, but when I reviewed them I found that the PS3 ports were worse than the 360 ports, which saddened me.
I will eventually get a PS3, but is it going to be worth it? I was going to get one with Back-wards compatability, because I have hoofin amounts of PS2 games, but I really don't want to buy a second hand one for that feature. Also it's a case of, when are the new....new.....generation of consoles going to be released. M$ have plans for end of 2010 and I can't see Sony being long behind them.
In the end, it's prolly not going to be long before I buy one since I am a gaming ho.
